Academic Integrity Policy

1. Commitment to Academic Integrity
Hemisphere Academy La Esfera is committed to the highest standards of academic integrity. All participants — students, staff, and volunteers — must adhere to principles of honesty, transparency, and respect in all academic activities.
2. Honest Assessments
Assessments (tests, assignments, discussions, and the Global Impact Capstone) must be completed honestly and represent the student's original work. Sharing answers, copying, or presenting someone else's work as your own constitutes a violation of academic integrity.
3. Permitted Use of AI
Artificial intelligence may be used as a learning support tool, as established in our AI Use Policy. However, AI must not be used to generate complete assessment answers or to write the Global Impact Capstone in its entirety. AI should be a support tool, not a substitute for learning.
4. Academic Review Signals
The Academy may use review signals (including AI detection signals) as indicators that an assessment requires academic review. These signals NEVER constitute an automatic accusation of dishonesty. They are solely indicators that the work requires review by authorized academic personnel.
5. Global Impact Capstone
The Global Impact Capstone is the final project for each individual class. It must be the student's original work. The Academy may request revisions if signals requiring academic review are identified. The final decision on the capstone remains with authorized academic personnel.
6. Review and Revisions
The Academy reserves the right to review any assessment and require revisions when necessary. Students may request grade revisions through the grade revision process available on the Platform.
7. Academic Authority
Artificial intelligence does NOT have final academic authority. Grades, pass/fail decisions, and capstone decisions are made by authorized academic personnel. AI assists in evaluation but does not replace human judgment.
8. Consequences
Violations of academic integrity may result in: re-evaluation requirements, grade revisions, or institutional actions depending on severity. Each case is reviewed individually by authorized personnel.
